In open source subject I had to work a lot on linux commands. I installed cygwin on windows and this was my substitute for linux. However once I had to build openjdk. I had 2 options. Either use virtual machine or install new linux operating system. I decided to be on safe side and so installed vmplayer. But this was pain too. It was too slow. With 3GB RAM nothing is expected to go slow. So I removed player. Now I had no choice but to install linux. I shrinked some space on hard disk and was about to install ubuntu. Suddenly out of the blue I decided to google issues related to installing ubuntu. As the search is not perfect to 100% it gave me a link for Wubi. I went through the tutorial for installing it and found that it was the easiest way to install ubuntu on the planet. I downladed it and began installation. Just asked password and space I wanted to give for ubuntu. Thats it. No pressing Next button or agree button. It all did by itself. No manual partition to be done. Moreover it can be removed easily from windows just like normal software programs. It was easier then installing yahoo messenger.

Linux - Pain to Joy
I took Open Source Software Development as one of my class during Spring semester. I was very excited for this course. Seniors had told me that it would be one of the toughest subjects. Professor had given a list of softwares that would be needed for the course. So I wrote the list on paper and started installing them one by one. I was so obsessed with installing softwares that I was just looking to press next button. I wanted to install linux. Ubuntu is famous here. So I downloaded it. I was running installation, it asked me for drive where I wanted to install it. By mistake I selected same drive in which I had installed windows. Then guess what? Hard drive crashed. I called BestBuy and asked for replacement. Due to recession there were not eager to please their customers immediately. They asked me to leave laptop with them for 2 weeks. I had no choice. I had to give it to them for repairing. Then began my most frustating days in USA. My semester started and I was without laptop. I shared laptop with one of my friend who was in Electrical. Thanks to Samip oh! sorry Sam. I had to remain in this situation for 3 weeks. I hated it. Finally I got my laptop.
